The first issue of the sixth volume is published
The first issue of the sixth volume of Graphosphaera (2026. Vol. 6. № 1) is now published.
The present issue of Graphosphaera: Writing and Written Practices is dedicated to Dr Tatyana Nikolaevna Jackson on the occasion of the birthday. An outstanding scholar, Dr Jackson is a specialist in early medieval Scandinavia and sagas. The contributions to this issue are concerned with sagas, skaldic poetry, the connections between Scandinavia and Rus in the Early Middle Ages, Scandinavian names in Byzantium, and the book culture of the Norman Kingdom of Sicily. The authors are inspired by Dr Jackson’s elegant scholarly style, which combines source-critical and comparative approaches with a deep effort to comprehend the cultural experience of Normans across diverse locations, from Iceland to Constantinople and Sicily. We hope this issue will serve a fitting tribute to our esteemed colleague and member of the journal’s editorial board.
