«История императора Ираклия» Себеоса: попытка интерпретации

Аннотация: Статья посвящена проблеме интерпретации одного из самых загадочных произведений раннего средневековья – «Истории императора Ираклия», написанного армянским автором – епископом Себеосом в первой половине VII в. Актуальность данного исследования определяется тем, что это сложное по содержанию произведение практически не исследовано в историко-филологическом и культурологическом аспектах. Предложенный в статье комплексный подход предполагает сочетание культурологического и семиотического методов, позволяющих выявить скрытые смыслы данного произведения и попытаться понять замысел и мировоззрение христианского автора VII в. Данное сочинение представляет собой уникальное сочетание «истории» и «эсхатологического пророчества». В нем органично сплетены сугубо исторические рассказы с апокалиптическими мотивами. В итоге получается своего рода историософское и одновременно политологическое эссе о современных автору проблемах и своеобразных «вызовах современности», главным из которых является приближение конца света. В тексте впервые звучат многие мотивы («смена мировых империй», «владение Крестом Господним», «последний царь мировой державы» и др.), которые станут ведущими в историографии и богословии христианского мира. Армяне же представлены как «новый избранный народ», сохранивший истинную христианскую веру.
